Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood is in doubt for the Boxing Day Test after sustaining an injury on day four of the third Test against India at the Gabba in Brisbane.
In a massive blow for the Aussies, Hazlewood sustained a calf problem during the team's warm-up and was subsequently taken for scans - the results have yet to come back.
Already missing the previous Test in Adelaide, Victorian Scott Boland is the favourite to replace him in the team and holds a great bowling record at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
“Josh Hazlewood reported calf awareness in this morning's warm-up,” a team spokesperson said via The Sydney Morning Herald.
“He will be taken for scans to assess the injury. Any updates will be shared in due course.”
Only bowling one over on Tuesday, Hazlewood was accompanied to the boundary by team physio Nick Jones and comes after he suffered a side strain that ruled him out of the second Test.
