Queensland Reds' Karmichael Hunt could miss the remainder of the Super Rugby season.
Hunt has not played since the Reds' loss to the Crusaders in Round 6 due to an ongoing groin injury.
The fringe Wallaby, who has also been ruled out of this week's clash with the Brumbies, now appears unlikely to play again this season.
“It's one of those really funny sort of injuries, they just linger,” Reds' coach Nick Stiles said.
“It's genuinely, I hate to say it, a week-to-week thing just to see how the strengthening in it goes and what range of movement he has,” Stiles said.
“It's just the nature of that injury, they're very well-documented those injuries, they linger, and then it gets to a point where bang, you're good to go.”
The Reds are fourth in the Australian conference with just three wins from 12 games.
