The 20-year-old defeated Russian Teymuraz Gabashvili in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
Kyrgios will now face French No.3 seed Richard Gasquet, who overcame Latvian Ernest Gulbis 7-6(5), 6-3 to advance to the quarters.
