Nick Kyrgios has beaten former US Open champion Marin Cilic to win his maiden ATP title in Marseille.

Kyrgios did not drop a set during the tournament, winning the final 6-2, 7-6.

The win capped a brilliant week, beating two top-10 players in Richard Gasquet and Tomas Berdych en route to the title.

The 20-year-old will move up nine rankings spots to No.32 in the world.

"I came here not expecting to win it, to be honest. It was a tough field - Marin, Berdych and guys like this," Kyrgios said.

"But I played high quality all week. It was a great tournament. I really enjoyed my stay a lot. It's one of my favourite places and I played really, really well today.

"The atmosphere in here is really, really good. The crowd is unbelievable."
