Boston's 2024 NBA Championship title sees the Eastern Conference powerhouse become the standalone all-time leader for titles won by league franchises.
The Celtics clinched their 18th crown with a 4-1 series win over the Dallas Mavericks to go one championship ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Massachusetts franchise has now won 18 of their 23 finals appearances, with the Lakers' haul of 17 coming from 32 trips to the game's biggest stage.
The two iconic NBA teams make up 35 of the 78 titles won in the competition's history, with the Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls the only other franchises to win more than five rings, coming in at seven and six respectively.
The Bulls are one of five franchises to have a 100 per cent record in the finals but are the only team from that group to appear in more than one series.
A total of 21 teams have won the title, while a dozen have failed to do so.
Among the franchises currently in the NBA, the Phoenix Suns, Brooklyn Nets, Orland Magic, Utah Jazz, Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves and New Orleans Pelicans are yet to win a little.
