Matildas goalkeeper and dual-code athlete Casey Dumont has signed with a new club for the 2024/25 A-League Women's competition.

Debuting in the competition in 2008, the 32-year-old has signed a one-year contract with Perth Glory, following stints with five different teams: Brisbane Roar, Sydney FC, Western Sydney Wanderers, Melbourne Victory, and Central Coast Mariners.

She first represented the Matildas in 2015 and was named the competition's ALW Goalkeeper of the Year in 2022.

“I'm looking forward to a new challenge,” she said.

“It's going to be out of my comfort zone being on the other side of Australia at a new club with a whole lot of new faces, but I love being out of my comfort zone and the challenges that come with this.

“I think Perth will help me grow as an athlete on the field and as a better person off the field.

“I'm looking forward to taking on a mentor role amongst the team, helping the younger players improve their growth mind-sets and passing on some of my tips from all the experiences I have had in this league."

Currently playing in the AFLW with the Hawthorn Hawks, Dumont will arrive at Perth Glory at the conclusion of the season.

“Having players compete in different sports at the highest level is an exciting part of the current landscape," Hawthorn GM of Football Operations Max Bailey said in a statement.

"We're pleased to see Casey continue her journey as a dual-sport athlete with Perth Glory.

“Casey has reiterated her desire to focus on football while our season continues and will join her new Perth teammates following the conclusion of the AFLW season.

“We will continue to support Casey while she continues to balance both sports.”
