Another full day at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has brought with it Australia's eighth gold medal, while the USA finally jumped their tally into gear and have moved into second spot.
The USA picked up golds through Artistic Gymnastics, the women's Team Foil event in the fencing, the men's Four in rowing, and through Kate Douglass in the women's 200-metre breaststroke.
The trend of Australia's female atheltes carrying the medal table also continued, with the women's 4x200-metre freestyle relay team smoking home for number eight.
Australia sit fourth at the end of Day 6.
