With the Draft in the rear view mirror, the free agency period has taken centre stage in the NBA world.

Just two days into the frenzy that is modern day free agency, the league has already seen a plethora of moves.

Each deal made between the 2nd-6th of August is made upon verbal agreement, this is known as the moratorium period, as teams and players cannot officially complete the deal until after the 6th of August.

The Chicago Bulls have been among the busiest of franchises in the first 48 hours. The Bulls made a play to acquire 4x All Star guard Demar DeRozan on a deal worth $86 Million across 3 seasons.

Along with DeRozan, Chicago completed a sign-and-trade for former No.2 overall pick Lonzo Ball. The trade saw Ball joining the Bulls on a 4-year $85 million deal in exchange for guards Thomas Santoransky, Garret Temple and a 2nd round draft pick. Point guard Alex Caruso also reached an agreement to head to the windy city.

After acquiring Russell Westbrook in a blockbuster trade on draft night, the Los Angeles Lakers have added even more talent around the big three which includes Lebron James and Anthony Davis.

The Lakers have managed to add impressive pieces to their roster, such as guard Malik Monk from Charlotte on a two-year deal, point guard Kendrick Nunn from Miami on a two-year deal, shooting guard Kent Bazemore from Golden State and Dwight Howard from Philadelphia both on one-year deals. But perhaps their biggest move was acquiring 10x all star forward Carmelo Anthony, who will have the chance to play along close friend Lebron James inside the Staples Centre.

After a surprise run to the Finals in the bubble two seasons ago, the Miami Heat crashed out of the playoffs after being swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. The franchise from South Beach made a splash on the opening day of free agency agreeing to a three-year deal worth $90 million with six-time All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry. In addition to Lowry the Heat also agreed to terms with Milwaukee Buck championship member PJ Tucker for a two-year deal worth $15 million.
