The 76ers and Wizards kicked off today's playoff lineup, with a 1 vs 8 seed that will be closer than what the standings would indicate.

The game started close, but the Wizards built momentum and took an early lead into the 2nd quarter.

The 76ers fought their way back into the game, with Ben Simmons slicing up the wizards with pinpoint accuracy.

With the call dividing social media, the decision inevitably prevented the Wizards the opportunity to draw closer to the 76ers. Philidelphia managed to pull away winning the first game of the series.

Suns 99 def Lakers 90

In an unusual circumstance, the Suns found themselves the underdog for the series, despite being the number 2 seed in the west.

Despite it being the Sun's first playoff birth since 2010, Phoenix wouldn't allow the moment to get them, hustling and playing with heart all game.

The Suns jumped to an early lead, but an injury scare to point guard Chris Paul, left fans worried about a possible team collapse.

As the game tightened up, the intensity increased as this play lead to 4 tech fouls and a Cam Payne ejection.

In the end, Phoenix proved too strong for the Lakers, with Star guard Devon Booker scoring the most points in a Sun's playoff debut, including this clutch basket.

The Lakers will be starting to worry about their star center, who was severely outplayed by Ayton in his first playoff performance.

Hawks 107 def Knicks 105

The Knicks have missed the playoffs for the past 7 seasons... To say fans have missed it is an understatement.

In the back and forth matchup, both teams were up for the challenge

In a hotly contested match, unlikely hero Alec Burks looked to be leading the Knicks to victory.

The game came down to the wire, with late clutch shooting from Bogdanovic keeping the Hawks in the match.

But with 7 seconds remaining, scores locked, the Hawks looked to their young star.

And in his first playoff match, boy did Trae Young deliver.

Grizzlies 112 def 109 Jazz

The Jazz entered the game as the number 1 seed, but without their best player Donavan Mitchell.

The Jazz were looking to stamp their authority as the best in the West with a comprehensive win, but the Grizzlies and Morant had other ideas.

The Jazz fell behind early, with the Grizzlies being the aggressor from the beginning of the match.

But while the Jazz tried hard to fight back, Dillon Brooks had other ideas

A strong showing from the number 1 seed in the last quarter, got them back within the game and with a chance to take it to overtime.

With the time running out, Utah found itself behind by 3. With possession, the Jazz had the chance to take the game to overtime... but Bogdanovic missed the game-tying 3, giving the Grizzlies the early series lead.
