The FFA have appointed Scott Miller as Newcastle's new head coach on a two year deal.
Miller was formally at EPL club Fulham, first as a fitness coach, and more recently as under-21s manager.
The 33-year-old said it was the right time to move into coaching.
“It's the right time and the right place for me,” said Miller.
“I jumped at this wonderful opportunity to take the next step in my coaching career as Head Coach at a club that's making a new beginning.
“I've heard a lot about the long and proud history of this football region and its passionate fans. Football clubs exist to bring joy to the people and that's a driving force in my thinking.”
The FFA took over the struggling club from Nathan Tinkler at the end of the 2014/15 season.
