Harry Novillo has signed a two year deal with Melbourne City.
The French-born Martiniquais footballer was signed as an injury replacement for Damien Duff last year, playing eight games in the second half of the season.
The 23-year-old is a former French youth international and a product of Lyon's famous youth academy.
Head coach John van 't Schip said he was excited to have a player of Novillo's quality extend his stay with City.
"Harry was an important player and contributor for us in the final three months of the season and illustrated his value to the team during that period," in a statement.
"Despite joining the team in March, Harry was able quickly adapt to a new environment and make a positive contribution and he is an exciting player."
