Aussie duo Michael Hussey and David Saker have been appointed among England's T20 coaching staff for the T20 World Cup in Australia next month.

They will both join Australia's oldest adversary on short term deals, with Saker joining as a bowling consultant, while Hussey joins as a batting specialist.

The pair of appointments underpin England's desire to keep their coaching staff across Test and white-ball sides completely separate.

Saker will begin his role during England's seven-match T20 series in Pakistan due to kick off next week, before pivoting back to his head coaching role with the Melbourne Renegades later this year.

He was part of the English coaching set up in 2010 to 2015 that took the side to no.1 in the Test rankings, and was among the architects that dismantled the Aussies in the 2010-11 Ashes series.

Saker also led Victoria to a Sheffield Shield triumph with his only season with the team, before becoming a fast bowling coach for the Australian side in 2016.

Since retiring as a player in 2016, Hussey has been appointed as director of cricket at Sydney Thunder, and as a batting consultant for numerous sides; Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, as well as IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings.

Hussey and Saker join England white-ball head coach and fellow Australian Matthew Mott, alongside assistants Richard Dawson and Carl Hopkinson.

The noticeably strong Australian influence could be put to good use in both England's three-match Dettol T20I Series against Australia and the World Cup that follows.

England are due to begin their World Cup campaign on October 22 against Afghanistan Optus Stadium.
