With the news that Carlos Sainz would be moving to his seat at Renault directly after this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix naturally means that the French based squad are releasing Jolyon Palmer from his contract ahead of schedule.
Cyril Abiteboul, General Manager of Renault Sport Racing thanked the British driver for all he has done while with the team stating that he has demonstrated a strong commitment in an environment in constant change, however it was not enough to keep him in the team.
As for Jolyon the focus is this weekend's race and he will evaluate his options after thatโฆ.
"The Japanese Grand Prix will be my last race with Renault,โ Jolyon said. โThe season was extremely difficult and I experienced many things during the past three years. It was nevertheless a great adventure. I can be proud of my performance in the second half of last season, from my first point in Malaysia and of course my best result, a sixth place this year in Singapore. I wish the team every success in the future. My immediate goal is to get the best possible result at the Japan Grand Prix before evaluating the options available to me. "
