Two-time premiership Tiger Kamdyn McIntosh's sister, Brooke, is set to endure a gruelling endurance challenge to raise money for charity.

The AFL footballer competes in one of the most physically taxing sports in the world, with players at the elite level often covering 12-plus kilometres per match. However, McIntosh's workload will be light work compared to his sister, who is preparing to complete an astonishing six-month fundraiser.

The 29-year-old will run 14,080 kilometres in 180 days, covering 80 kilometres daily for six months, in hopes of becoming the fastest female to run around Australia.

McIntosh aims to raise $1 million for The Blue Tree Project, a Western Australian mental health charity dedicated to breaking the stigma around mental illness.

The cause is one McIntosh aligns herself with closely, after she was involved in a near-fatal truck accident in 2022. McIntosh considers it a "life-altering moment" that sparked her mindset of "just one more".

McIntosh is no stranger to extreme physical and mental challenges. Previously, she ran 1600km from Karratha to Perth in 2023, and has since completed 18 months of preparation to build for her next remarkable feat.

Her brother "couldn't be prouder of his younger sister's determination" as McIntosh gears up to begin her run just over a week before the Tigers defender runs out for Richmond's Round 1 match.

The first 80km day begins on March 2, with an unhindered attempt set to see McIntosh complete her lap of the continent on August 29.
