The Perth Scorchers will be forced to look for yet another replacement ahead of their opening Big Bash League match, with import quick Tymal Mills withdrawing from the tournament due to a family emergency.
Mills was taken during the international player draft by the Scorchers this year, having played a key role for the club during their title winning season last summer.
The English quick's withdrawal follows that of Phil Salt (injury), Laurie Evans (positive anti-doping test) and domestic star all-rounder Mitch Marsh (injury).
The club have already added Faf du Plessis for the first seven games of the season, but are now on the lookout for a quick bowler from overseas to replace Mills, as well as a batsman to spend the second half of the BBL in orange.
The club confirmed they support Mills' decision.
"Perth Scorchers fast bowler Tymal Mills will not be available for the 2022-23 KFC Big Bash League season due to a family emergency," a club statement read.
"Mills was recruited by Perth in the inaugural BBL|12 Draft after playing an important role during the Scorchers' title-winning BBL|11 campaign.
"The Club fully supports Mills' decision, and sends its thoughts and best wishes to his family during this time.
"Perth is exploring its options to recruit a replacement international player."
Mills was part of the phenomenal Scorchers bowling attack last summer which had Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff and Jhye Richardson all amongst the wickets, with Mills taking 12 wickets at 15.83 in just 7 games throughout the tournament.
The English quick has played 13 T20s for his country, taking 12 wickets, but has taken 198 wickets in 172 T20s around the globe, bowling at an average of 24.03.
Perth begin their BBL campaign with a re-match against last year's grand final opposition the Sydney Sixers on Saturday evening.
