David Warner is in doubt for the remainder of Australia's tour of India after it was revealed the batsman suffered a fractured elbow.
Warner, who was ruled out on day two of the Delhi test due to concussion, suffered both the concussion and fracture during the opening day of the Test while facing Mohammad Siraj's bowling, suffering knocks to the elbow and helmet.
Speaking after the day's play, Usman Khawaja hinted that Warner may be replaced in the side after feeling "weary".
"The medical staff will have to assess (Warner) tomorrow โฆ he got a knock to the arm and then the head," Khawaja said.
"I think the head made him a little bit weary at the moment, and couldn't come out to field.
"The staff will have to figure out what happens from here."
Cricket Australia confirmed on Saturday that Warner would not feature in the remainder of the second Test, with Matt Renshaw taking his place in Australia's XI.
"Warner will now follow the graduated return to sport protocols ahead of the third Test in Indore in line with Cricket Australia guidelines," a team statement read.
The second test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy series continues on Sunday, while the third test will get underway on March 1 in Indore.
