Reigning US Masters champion, Sergio Garcia has been confirmed for the Australian PGA Championships in November.
Garcia will headline the event, which is still hopeful of securing Australian stars Jason Day and Adam Scott.
โAll three would be the dream,'' Australian PGA CEO Gavin Kirkman said last week.
โWe've been working with Sergio's management for a long time. We got to The Open for a lot of Federation meetings but one of our key player meetings last week was with Carlos (Rodriguez), who manage Sergio.
โWe were confident but nothing is done until you get a signature. Our team couldn't do anything until we get that signature.
โFor our tour, we're going to have Sergio, the current Masters champion, Jordan (Spieth), the current Open champion (for the Australian Open) ... two Major winners. We want to compliment them with hopefully all of our top Australian players.''
Garcia, currently ranked No.5 in the world, broke through for his first major earlier this year, winning the US Masters.
The Australian PGA Championships run from November 30 to December 3.
