France has suffered another injury blow ahead of the 2025 Six Nations, weeks after it was revealed that Gael Fickou will miss the opening rounds due to a wrist injury.

With Fickou sidelined, centre Jonathan Danty will join him on the injury list after sustaining an injury after he was aiming to force his way back into Les Bleus Six Nations squad.

As reported by French publication L'Equipe, Danty has been ruled out of the opening rounds of the Six Nations competition after sustaining a knee injury.

Sidelined for around two months, he will have an operation in the coming days on his meniscus in an attempt to be available for selection for France's final two matches of the tournament against Ireland and Scotland.

Missing the international matches in July and November, the 32-year-old La Rochelle centre expressed his desire to return to the international arena at the end of last year.

“For a few months now, it's been a bit complicated in the club,” Danty told Midi Olympique.

“People were still expecting as much from me but it was more delicate. Let's say that I went through a bad patch. But it's not over.”

It is understood that Yoram Moefana and Emilien Gailleton will likely be called upon in the starting team due to the injuries to Fickou and Danty.
