Fresh off his latest Test century, Steve Smith seemed to indicate the curtain could be closing on his time as an international cricketer.
Smith, who scored 104 against South Africa before being dismissed during the third and final Test of the ongoing series against South Africa, was quizzed by reporters over his future after play.
The response - he wasn't sure how long he would keep playing for.
"We'll see. I'm enjoying it at the moment," Smith told reporters.
"I really can't say how long I'll play for. I'm not sure.
"I'll take it one tour at a time, just enjoy it, enjoy training and trying to get better as well. Whilst I'm doing that, I'm happy playing but I don't know how long that'll last."
The century moves Smith to equal third on the list of most Test centuries by an Australian, but another cryptic answer earlier this summer suggested he doubts he has enough time left to reach the Australian record of 41, set by Ricky Ponting.
Speaking to SEN Radio before a rain-impacted start to Day 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Smith clarified his response, stating that he isn't going anywhere right now.
"Look, I was a little bit cryptic there," he said.
"I'm not going anywhere right now, I can tell you that. I am getting older and I'll take it tour by tour, but I have no immediate plans to stop playing.
"I'm seeing them pretty well, I'm happy with where my game's at. I've made a lot of changes at the start of the summer and I was able to go back yesterday to how I used to bat a little bit, with my movement across, which I'll do at certain periods when I feel it's necessary. I feel really comfortable with my game and I look forward to what's coming up."
Smith will be a critical part of Australia's top order during the upcoming 12 months in both the Test and 50-over format, with a four-Test tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, five-Test tour of England for the Ashes, World Test Championship final and ODI World Cup all on the calendar between now and the end of November.
