Australia recorded a dominant 3-0 win over Kyrgystan to earn three more valuable points on the road to Russia.
Goals to Mile Jedinak, Tim Cahill and an own goal sealed the win, however, it could have been far worse for the visitors, with Australia missing several golden chances.
Jedinak opened the scoring in the 40th minute courtesy of penalty to give the Aussies a much deserved lead heading into half time. The Socceross completely dominated the opposition, with 71% of possession in the opening 45 minutes.
Mark Milligan missed the best chance of the first half, when a saved shot rebounded to the former Melbourne Victory captain, however, he had an air swing with an open goal just a metre away.
Tim Cahill scored his 42nd goal for Australia early in the second half, after finishing off a sublime pass from Melbourne City man Aaron Mooy.
The third goal came courtesy of an own goal, after an Aaron Moory corner found the head of Kygrystan defender Ildar Amirov before ending up in the back of the net.
Australia remain second in Group B on 12 points, with four wins and a loss after five matches, one point behind leaders Jordan.
The Socceroos travel to Dhaka next week for another World Cup qualifier, this time against Bangladesh.
