Socceroos striker Apostolos Stamatelopoulos is confirmed to be leaving the Newcastle Jets in the A-League after signing with a European club for an undisclosed fee.
Contracted for a further season for the Jets in the A-League, the club have allowed him to pursue an opportunity overseas that will increase his chances of improving his development and being chosen to represent the Socceroos for their upcoming World Cup Qualifying matches.
Although his new club is yet to be confirmed, it is understood that the forward has agreed to terms on a three-year contract with Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership on a deal worth around ยฃ260,000 (AUD$502,400), perย Sky Sports Newsย journalist Anthony Joseph.

Starting with the Jets in 2021, he has gone on to score 24 goals in 60 A-League appearances and became an Australian international earlier this year against Palestine in June.
He has also previously spent time with Adelaide United and Western United and had overseas stints with Rodos and PAS Giannina.
