Sam Stosur has been knocked out of the Brisbane International by Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro.
Stosur went down in three sets, 6-1, 6-7, 6-4.
After a one-sided first set, the Aussie managed to regroup after looking seemingly out of the contest, to claim the second set in a tiebreak. However, the former US Open was unable fight back from an early break down in the third set, losing 6-4.
Earlier in the day, fellow Aussie James Duckworth was also bundled out of the tournament in three sets at the hands of Dominic Thiem, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
