Chelsea have proven to be big spenders in recent years, with the London giants now having made three of the seven biggest purchases among English Premier League transfer moves.

The Blues' recruitment of midfielder Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in January last year became the biggest purchase ever by an English club, coming in at $AUD197.21 (€121.00m).

That deal was eventually followed by Moises Caicedo's switch from Brighton to Stamford Bridge for $AUD189.54m (€116.00m) - which now sits as the sixth biggest deal ever involving an English side.

The biggest transfer deal including an EPL club was set between Liverpool and Barcelona when the Reds lost Philippe Coutinho to the Spanish outfit for a mouth-watering fee of $AUD220.03 (€135.00m).

Fernandez's move sits second for all-time deals, while Chelsea's sale of Eden Hazard in the 2019/20 window for $AUD196.89 (€120.80m) is the third highest.

The biggest deal involving two EPL clubs was set in 2021/22 when Jack Grealish made the move from Aston Villa to Manchester City, becoming the most expensive Englishman ever.

Declan Rice narrowly trailed following his $AUD190.52m (€116.60m) Arsenal venture from West Ham.

Tottenham are home to two of the biggest sales in English Premier League history, having parted with Gareth Bale in 2013 and Harry Kane a decade later for sums of $AUD165.03m (€101.00m) and $AUD138.88m (€95.00m) respectively.
