Nick Winter, Bailey Capel and Ryan King have all been released by the Redbacks after the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) decided not to renew their contracts.
The Redbacks managed a fourth-place finish in the Sheffield Sheild this season but only managed to win twice and were well off the pace set by the two finalists, Victoria and Western Australia.
These results are likely what has seen the trio's time in South Australia end, as the Redbacks seek to rebuild their squad and come back stronger come summer.
Winter was signed on in 2013 and would make his first-class Sheild debut in 2017. In his decade at the club, he took 84 wickets across 30 matches in List A and first-class cricket.
Capel and King had much shorter tenures at the club, with both joining in the 2021-22 summer and neither truly managing to make their mark on the side, with King not managing to make an appearance.
SACA General Manager of Cricket Tim Nielsen thanked the trio for their service and wished them all the best on theย team website.
โNick, Bailey and Ryan have all been great members of our squad and we are extremely grateful for their service to South Australian cricket,โ Nielsen said.
โWhile on field performance is of course the ultimate measure for our players and staff, what each individual brings to the team environment is also vital and Nick, Bailey and Ryan have contributed positively during their time at the state level.
โThis is always a tough time of year with the playing list undergoing changes, but we are excited about where our squad is placed and look forward to further reinforcing it in the coming months.โ
