UFC President Dana White has confirmed that the anticipated fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will no longer take place at UFC 303 in Las Vegas

As confirmed on Friday, McGregor has withdrawn from the fight against Chandler due to injury - the first time in his career he has pulled out of a fight.

The highly anticipated bout will now be replaced by a new main event featuring Alex Pereira vs Jiri Prochazka for the Light Heavyweight Title.

White also confirmed that Diego Lopes will face Brian Ortega in the co-main event, while Carlos Ulberg will fight against Anthony Smith.

Ulberg enters UFC 303 for the injured Jamahal Hill, who was originally slated for the event in Las Vegas.

Before pulling out, the fight was marked as McGregor's first fight since losing to Dustin Poirier in 2021 and Michael Chandler's first bout since losing to Poirier at UFC 281 in November 2022.

Regarded as one of the most well-known fighters in UFC history, the proud Irishman is a former Featherweight and Lightweight Champion and also competed against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the boxing ring in 2017.
