Adelaide United coach Carl Veart has called for the A-League's Unite Round to be shared across the country instead of being permanently based in Sydney.
The Reds will play Brisbane Roar on Saturday at Allianz Stadium as part of the six A-League Men's games scheduled in Sydney from Friday to Sunday.
Six A-League Women's matches will also take place at Jubilee Stadium over the same weekend.
Unite Round was introduced last year, with Sydney chosen as the host city under a revised agreement between the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) and the NSW Government.
The deal replaced the widely criticised plan to hold the A-League Grand Final in Sydney every year.
While Veart supports the idea of Unite Round, he questions if Sydney is the best location for it.
โFrom outside Sydney, we haven't seen much of what's happening around Unite Round,โ Veart said to News.com.
โIt's a good initiative, but keeping it in one city might not be ideal.
โAdelaide probably doesn't have the facilities for it, but rotating the event could give more fans across Australia the chance to be involved. That's something the APL might consider in the future.โ
