Former Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle has confirmed he'll return to the Victorian cricket team following the end of his recent stint with Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield.
The 38-year-old will return to Victoria for the first time since the 2019/20 season, deciding on a comeback in the navy blue over retirement at the first-class level.
In a post to social media, Siddle thanked the Tigers for his three seasons representing the Apple Isle before expressing his excitement to return to Victoria.
"As the season comes to an end so does my time with the Tasmanian Tigers," Siddle wrote.
"I've had a wonderful time over the past 3 years and can't thank them enough for the opportunity and support.
"It came at a tough time in my life but you all welcomed me and made me feel happy so thank you for that. My time down there will always hold a spot in my heart. Wish you all the best and see you boys soon.

"Now it's time to run it back with Victoria. Can't wait to come back home!"
A cult figure for Victoria, Siddle made his debut with Victoria in the 2005/2006 Sheffield Shield season and has played a total of 81 matches across the red-ball format with Victoria and Tasmania.
The Morwell-born paceman took 24 wickets from his eight appearances for Tasmania this summer, adding plenty of experience and edge to the Tigers' bowling attack.
Having also lost Tim Paine to retirement, Tasmania will be without key veteran talent for their 2023/24 season.
