Tasmanian opening batsman Tim Ward has added to his prolific run-scoring in the Sheffield Shield by taking what will surely be the catch of the summer.
In what would be the final wicket of South Australia's innings on a green pitch at Blundstone Arena, Ward was stationed at gully, with Jackson Bird bowling.
A length ball outside the off stump drew tail-ender Wes Agar into playing a shot away from his body, getting a tick edge that appeared as if it was going to fly away between third slip and gully.
Instead, Ward flung himself through the air, taking a one-handed catch with his entire body sideways before landing safely.

The wicket would ensure South Australia completed their innings on 329, with only centuries from Jake Weatherald and Nathan McSweeney standing between twin collapses at the top and bottom.
Ward opened the batting for Tasmania, but failed, making only 14.
Regardless, he is in what appears to be a four-way race for Australia's two opening batting spots as David Warner and Usman Khawaja approach the end of their careers.

Ward had an excellent Sheffield Shield season last year, and heading into the game against South Australia, had already racked up 389 runs at 48.62 with four half-centuries from nine innings this season.
