Two Premier League clubs have been knocked out of the EFL Cup in the second round, as the Hornets and Baggies suffered losses this morning to League One sides.
In the competition more commonly known to fans as the League Cup, Watford were beaten in extra time by Gillingham 2-1, and West Brom were knocked out in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw against Northampton Town.
Liverpool and Chelsea avoided upsets, although the Blues made it a lot tougher than it needed to be.
Bristol Rovers took it to Antonio Conte's men for the full 90 minutes, but a brace to Michy Batshuayi on his full debut helped Chelsea to a narrow 3-2 victory.
The Reds had no such problems with Burton Albion, putting five goals past the Championship outfit.
Other Premier League sides Crystal Palace, Everton, Hull, Swansea and Stoke all won through to the third round.
