‘We shouldn’t be subjected to that’

Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Danny Vukovic is the latest player to slam the pitch from Saturday night's match between the Phoenix and the Victory.

Speaking on FoxSports' Fox Football Podcast, Vukovic said it was the worst pitch he has played on in his time in the A-League.

“After 11 years in the A-League we shouldn't be subjected to that,” Vukovic said.

“For the quality of the football and most importantly for the safety of the players it just wasn't good enough.

“It was probably about 80% sand and they painted it green to make it look better than what it was. It was really disappointing.”

Victory play Western Sydney Wanderers in a top of the table clash on Saturday night.
