Webber wins World Endurance Championship title

Mark Webber has claimed the world endurance title after a fifth-place finish in the season-ending Six Hours of Bahrain race.

Porsche teammates Romain Dumas, Marc Lieb and Neel Jani won the race but it was not enough to deny 39-year-old Webber and co-drivers Timo Bernhard and Brendon Hartley from sealing the title.

The Australian-New Zealand-German trio prevailed by five points to became Porsche's first world sportscar champions since 1986.
