There are five cycling monuments which are known as the most prestigious, oldest, hardest one-day cycling races.

They all consist of close to 250 kilometres and besides the three Grand Tour races, the cycling monuments are the five most-watched cycling races each year.

These five races are known as Milano-San Remo, De Ronde van Vlaanderen, Paris-Roubaix, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and Il Lombardia.

Each race is unique and tests a rider's physicality differently.

  1. Milano-San Remo: Raced in Lombardy, Piedmont, and Liguria, Italy each year during mid-March.
  2. De Ronde van Vlaanderen: Raced in Flanders, Belgium each year in early April.
  3. Paris-Roubaix: Raced in Nord, France each year in mid-April.
  4. Liège-Bastogne-Liège: Rced in Wallonia, Belgium each year at the end of April.
  5. Il Lombardia: Raced in Lombardy, Italy each year in early October.
