Raced for over 1200 metres on a weight for age basis, the Doomben 10,000 is, perhaps, the premier sprint race on Brisbane's racing calender.
First run, and won, in 1933, the race has seen many of the countries finest sprinters make tracks for the River City in a bid for the healthy purse of a cool one-million dollars.
