The preparations for the 2024-25 NBA season are well and truly underway, starting October 22.

While there may be a slight lull in basketball action, the 2025 Summer League is nearing its completion while the 2024 Paris Olympics begins in a matter of days, keeping fans occupied.

But as the mind wonders during the off-season, some questions begin to be asked.

How long will Lebron James play for? Will his son Bronny be any good? Can Nikola Jokic continue his dominance? Will the Celtics go back-to-back?

Which players have played for the most NBA teams?

For the initial five thoughts, the answer is yet to be determined.

But for who is an NBA journeyman, that we can tell you.

Players who have suited up for the most teams in the NBA...

Ish Smith, 13 teams (2011-present)

Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, Oklahoma City Thunder, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets and Denver Nuggets.

Smith had two stints at the 76ers, Wizards and Hornets, where he currently plays.

Chucky Brown, 12 teams (1990-2002)

Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, New Jersey Nets, Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings. He had two stints with the Hornets and Cavaliers.

Throughout his career, Brown spent time overseas and in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA).

Jim Jackson, 12 teams (1993-2006)

Dallas Mavericks, New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers.

Jackson spent the most time in Dallas after being the No.4 overall Pick in the 1992 NBA Draft.

Tony Massenburg, 12 teams (1991-2005)

San Antonio Spurs, Charlotte Hornets, Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, Vancouver Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings.

Massenburg was the No.43 selection in the 1990 NBA Draft, taken by San Antonio.

Joe Smith, 12 teams, (1996-2011)

Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, Denver Nuggets, Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Atlanta Hawks, New Jersey Nets and Los Angeles Lakers.

Smith would have multiple stints at the Wolves, 76ers and Cavaliers.

Garrett Temple, 12 teams (2010-present)

Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, Milwaukee Bucks, Charlotte Bobcats, Washington Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans and Toronto Raptors (his current team).

Temple might rival Smith's current record of 13 teams.
