With Wimbledon kicking off tonight, let's take a look at the Aussies in action on day one:

Nick Kyrgios (20) vs. Pierre-Hugues Herbert

The great Australian hope will face off against Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the first round. The Frenchman, who is more a doubles specialist, is ranked 70th in the world and has had a less than convincing 2017, going just 7-11 while on the tour. He does have a decent record at Wimbledon considering his ranking, having reached the third round last year, and going down to Bernard Tomic in the second round the year before.

Hopefully Kyrgrios can breeze past Herbert with little trouble. He should be able to as long as his body doesn't work against him.

John Millman vs. Rafael Nadal (4)

An incredibly tough ask for Millman, who is drawn to play Rafael Nadal on day one of the tournament. The Spaniard is coming off a Grand Slam victory at Roland Garros, and will be eager to continue on his form.

One thing in the Aussie's favour is Nadal's somewhat poor record at Wimbledon over recent time. The world number two hasn't gotten past the fourth round since 2011.

Andrew Whittington vs. Thiago Monteiro

Not many Aussies would have heard of world number 210, Andrew Whittington. Over the past couple of years he has slowly pushed his way up the rankings and now has his chance to show his worth at Wimbledon.

The 23-year-old's first round opponent is Thiago Monteiro. The Brazilian is currently ranked 100th in the world. The two have never played each other before, and it is a great chance for Whittington to make the second round. The winner is likely to face 30th Seed, Karen Khachanov.

Ashleigh Barty vs. Elina Svitolina (4)

World number 56 Ash Barty will take on fourth seeded Elina Svitolina on day one. It will be an uphill battle for Barty against the world number five. 22-year old Svitolina made the quarter-finals of the French Open, and will look to go better at Wimbledon.

Barty has been in good form this year, winning her first singles title ever, it might be a tough match but no doubt she will be up for the challenge.
